No time to grow!

There was no time to grow,
Learned to deal a vengeful blow,
Before I learn how to talk,
Before I could fully learn to walk,
I had to be a man,

Born in the jungle,
Born in to violence,
Death a common sight,

All that mattered was might,
At a very tender age,
Learned to pull a trigger,
Before I could know right from wrong,

Claps of violence,
Peals of gunshots,
Music of my childhood,
Arrrh did I write childhood,
I knew nothing like that,
There was no childhood,
Only an adulthood,
Learned in a school of hardship,
Education was an alien,

I grew up abused,
No father and mother,
Learned to abuse,
Found pleasure in killing,

Killing fellow man,
That became the object of my mission,
I hated because that is all I was taught,

I had to earn a living,
Rape was an important weapon,
My virgin mind had been raped,
I learned rape in every form,
Mind, soul and body,
As a child I had to earn a living,

I had to keep my space,
Violence was my weapon,

Until she forcefully stole me away,
Put me on a different path,
Supplanted my hatred with love,
Ignorance with learning and education,
Freed me from the monstrous jaws of despair,
Gave me the light wings of hope,
Lit a candle in my darkness,
From a messed and stressed up adult,
In the body of a thirteen year old child,
I began a healing process,
I was set on the path to recovery,
By the woman I now call my mother,
My angel in flesh and blood,
This is the story of a child of war,
Caught in a war between adults,
Which inevitably becomes a war on childhood,
A war on the future of the world.

Be a better soldier!

Watch your crowd,
Could be a dark cloud,
Weaken your clout,
Cloud your vision,
Steal your ability to envision,
Keep the sun away,
Shutting out hurray,

Watch the company you keep,
Wrong one makes an adult creep,
Clip your wings,
As failure clings,

Pick your companions right,
Hold to your betters tight,
Crowds in which you are the best,
Are an anti-challenge fest,

Without challenge we can not grow,
Our betters encourage us to sow,
As faith feeds on adversity,
And talent taps from diversity,

Meet those who live your dream,
Read those who have been the cream,
Stand on their shoulder,
And be a better soldier.

Because I've known you!

I'll be remiss,
If I were to miss
To let you know,
As we continue to grow,
That beyond compare,
I am thankful for all your care,
And for all I've learned,
For all I've earned,

The smiles you bring,
To hope you help me cling,

Thankful for everything we've shared,
For everything I've dared,
All because I've known you,

You my boo,
And I owe you an incalculable debt of gratitude,

For giving my dwarfed stature better altitude,
Thank you.

When physical beauty fades!

When the glamour of physical beauty,
Under the weight of nature's ageing duty,
Wilts as surely as the most beautiful flower,
Unwelcome visit from wrinkle's power,
Beneath the walls of beauty's tower,
When trusted youth has cowered,
Youthful vigor and vitality clobbered by passing time,
What shall be left?
What character?
Beyond the chamber of voluptuousness,
What substance is there?

So if you married somebody just for physical beauty,
You'd be a widow(er) once the same has faded,
Even though they're still alive and life quickly becomes jaded,
Wisdom also seeks the beauty within,
Beauty not always so evident to the casual eye,
Beauty so deep seated that time and age cannot reach,
And nourished it grows from bloom and bloom,
Blossoming to an eternal climax,
When dust returns to dust,
And it is liberated into the eternal company of the creator,
From whom all the true never fading flare and beauty come.

A visit from the heavens!

The skies are little darker tonight,
In fact this has been true for two nights,
One of its stars is here on the earth,

Heavenly stars know a dearth,
I look to the east,
Before I know my eyes feast,
In unspeakable delight,

As I am helplessly drawn to The light,

Dazzling the eastern lawn of the beautiful garden,
You are so beautiful,
If the lilies and the roses,
And all the prettiest flowers in the world,
Could feel jealousy and envy,
They will instantly wilt on their stalks,
From the poison of a surfeit of the two,

As an envious jealousy becomes their suicidal pill,

Yonder years,
It was a brief encounter,
Just a few years on the counter,
Just when you were about to fully bloom,
You left leaving an unshakable spell of earthly gloom,
Back to the heavens,
Back to the heavens.

Sometimes we have to say goodbye!

Inasmuch as I hate to sometimes we have to say goodbye,
I wish I could conjure what it takes to have a good buy,
Forever buy the time till now from the first moment my eyes discovered you,
Bring it with me as I negotiate the next bend of life's treacherous paths apart from you,

Even though I am now acutely aware that wishes alone fall miserably short,
I hope I can at least convince you to come with me to the airport,
This one stings me with the intensity of a thousand angry hornets and bees,
After now I am left bereft of a critical part of me despite many desperate pleas.

Magic to tragic!

It felt so right,
Nothing prepared her for the brutally prolonged night,
Pure magic,
On its way to the painfully tragic,
The irresistibly inviting cruise,
Left her with such a terrible bruise,

Magic can be fleeting,
Leave you unconsciously tweeting,
Then leave you feeling so fake,
Consumed like a birthday cake,

Confused in the wake,
Of the magical deceptive blindness,
Teaching at a heavy price that purely magic is not sustainable for very long,
Let your magic be grounded in some reality,
Even though any reality robs pure magic of what it intrinsically is,
There is not another way to make it sustainable.
