Women still hold up half the sky!

Shirley received a postcard from daddy with the words of  Mao Zedong loudly ringing through the sky: Women still hold up half the sky:

Shirley I don't how we started calling you Shirls, (smiles)
Today I pray for you and all the world wide girls,
That you have the wisdom and endurance to weather life's stormy swirls,
That you may never forget your inestimable worth is much more than earls,
Beyond the physical expression of beauty through your curves and curls,
Buried within you are a numberless many gems and precious pearls,

Be sure to mine every one of them as you unfurl like a fern,
While soft and sweetly kind know that life sometimes calls us to be a little stern,
Learn from your mistakes and keep moving,
Arise from your hurts and keep loving,
The world needs you living fully,
Lending your brightest spark to the darkest places usefully,

Never apologies for shining or living or excelling,
You can become ANYTHING,
Never seek to be a man,
Your womanity is more than enough humanity,
Never forget to pray!

Happy Women's day!

Lovingly,

Daddy.

Habit!

When habit becomes the sinking sand,
The place where creativity comes to drown,

Let the constant donning of the creative hat,
Be the one habit you never let to die,

Let the constant mining of the endless better,
Be a habit allowed to blossom and to bloom,

Without necessarily reinventing the wheel,
Crown your life with the precious crown of novelty,

Wear this habit,
Like a monk's habit.

The maiming blame game!

Started from the days of Adam and Eve,
Still as true today on eternity's eve,
Been here with us since many years of yore,
You know you have done it before,
Thinking it will lessen the consequential sore,
Not knowing it is irresponsibility at its core,

Don't blame it on an absent father,
Resist the temptation to blame a drug high mother,
No excuse for you to be high like a kite on drugs,
Resist the stifling and suffocating pressure from society,
Decide to shape society,
Be a thermostat,

Stay away from the jail cells,
Don't stash your future away behind bars,
Don't blame a brother or a sister,
Refuse to blame another,
Take full responsibility,
Clean up your act,
Get some help,
Make a difference in your life,
Drop the distracting dislocating blame game,
It is the devil's best game,
Don't be his ally,
He is your enemy,
Confront your demons,
Denying them wouldn't make them away,

Your every tomorrow can be brighter,
Your gifts are from God yes,
But it all depends on you,
No one can live your life for you,
Bad things happened - true,
Resisting the distracting outward finger pointing,
Spend the energy on forging a better now and tomorrow.

When pain drives you insane!

When pain drives you insane,
From causes you can’t explain,
Every ounce of energy drain,
Shackles of the pain of many a chain,
Life’s fast running train,
Emotionally lame,
From all the heartbreaks which came,
Threatened to maim,
Leave you without gain,
When calamities rain,
And you are caught in life’s broken crane,
When the reward for being a respectable dame,
Is a scornful disdain,
When circumstances become your Cain,
And you come back home to a future slain,
Like a lion without a mane,
At best you take sorry aim,
At tomorrow’s promise game,
When everything seems to be your bane,
Continual losses one painful cane,
It doesn’t help to feign,
So listen up dear Jayne,
Don’t turn life into one melodramatic refrain,
If need be change your lane,
Remember there is a God who knows your pain,
With the right attitude your pain is not in vain,
In God’s hands pain is a weapon for gain.

Let it go!

If you nurse your pain it will grow,
Even that parting pain from that former beau,
Might grow into the monster to claim your life,
More dangerous than an all blade knife,
Wisdom dictates you sow not,
Sow not the seed of your own demise,
A brighter better tomorrow will not come,
For those who stubbornly cling to a painfully troubled past,

It can be just as dangerous clinging to the joyously glorious past,
Clinging to the joys of a good old stale yesterday,
Stubbornly clinging to the past,
Stifles the countless possibilities of now,
Prevents the coming of a better tomorrow,
Release your ears to listen to new music,
Give yourself permission to dance to a new song,
Otherwise that sweeter song will pass you by,
Yesterday gives today and tomorrow only lessons,
Otherwise it only takes,

Soooooooooooo,
Let the pain go,
Let last year go,
Let last month go,
Let last week go,
Let yesterday go,
Let the last hour go,
Let the last minute go,
Let the last second go,

Keep the lessons tied to the memories,
Let the rest go,
Let it go,
Let it go,
Might take a while but start,
If you're like me you probably need help,
I get help from Jesus and from nature and living life.

Marvel - lessons from winter blades of grass!

Winter was barely gone,
He marveled as he watched the blades of grass,
Still wet from the bath of morning dew,
Joyously shining as its water drops reflected the brilliant morning sun,

Oh they bore the brunt of unforgiving winter days,
More than any man will ever know,
For many months carrying many feet of snow,
Clothed in a shell of unyielding ice,
Yet,
They refused to cling to the brutal sting of that painful past,
And grew at the slightest chance,
The mere sight of distant spring,
Even before it fully came,

He titled that entry in his journal "Marvel",
Later named one of his children the same,
And prays faithfully on a daily basis,

" Let me be like those blades of grass Lord - Help me " .

First step to the vow - first date!

He manage to pull himself together and struggling with his words he said:

I was very shy,
You were the reason why,
Young unaccomplished bloke,
When I spoke you thought it was a joke,
I finally plucked the courage to ask you out for a date,
I remember how you did make me wait,
Never was there a wait so long,
That each second felt like eternity was just wrong,
Ten years later we are still going strong,
After that first wait,

Ten years to today I still had to wait,
Today that same courage I summoned to ask you out on that first date,
I pluck like I did the beautiful flower in my hand and ask you to be my mate,
My life long mate,
Please don't mind my tears,
I am overwhelmed by gratitude for all the imperfect but enriching years,
Two years travelling but always looking forward to now,
I am unsure how,
But you are here now,
At last I can say a relieving wow,
Come take a bow,

Later on you’ll hear my vow,
But first help me manage this eruption of joy,
Before I degenerate into an explosion of sheer delight.
